Hula Girl
approx 5 x 12 inches
acrylic on wood
safety coated to hang outdoors, bath, kitchen
sides painted, no need to frame
SOLD

I've nevr been to Hawaii, but I've heard it's beautiful. Our family once went to a luau at Sea World that made me feel like I was in Hawaii! I've seen the waves they get there, and I always wonder how the surfers don't get hurt.

Thought for the Day:
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.

Vase of Lilacs
approx 8 x 14 inches
acrylic on wood
SOLD
One of the things I grew up with on the farm in Pennsylvania was huge banks of lilacs. I miss them so much, as they do not grow well here in South Carolina. There is nothing like the scent of fresh lilacs.

Java Jive Series - Rainbow Mugs
21 x 3.5 inches
acrylic on wood, with wire

This one is hanging at Pop's Glass Gallery in Conway. It is the most unique gallery in Conway. Ed and Barb Streeter are the wonderful proprietors, and lovely Pam often works the gallery. If you go, tell them I sent you!
Golden Sea Goddess
8 x 13 inches
acrylic on wood
SOLD
I tend to paint lots of my mermaids with red hair for some reason. I'm not sure why. I'm getting lots of call for yellows, oranges, and reds lately. Seems folks are decorating with warm colors. Although my favorite color has been pink since I was a little girl, as an artist, I think yellow has a glow that no other color can match. My favorite yellow is cadmium yellow, because it has a touch of orange in it.
Love Lives Here
13 x 8 inches
acrylic on wood
SOLD Here's a whimsical little cottage. My friend Linda and her husband used to have a magnet hanging on their fridge that said, "This house is filled with love." It's funny the little things you remember, isn't it? I'm gearing up for Art in the Park, Chapin Park, Myrtle Beach this Saturday and Sunday from 10 am - 4 pm. Come see me if you like.

I'm a huge fan of pop art, though I don't do much of it. This is another painting based on the idea that we all have a life-giving river flowing from within.

Sun, Moon, Star Triptych
each piece is 4.5 x 4.5 inches
total height is 14.5 inches
acrylic on wood
clear gloss coating for protection
edges painted, no need for a frame
SOLD

This piece was inspired by a picture frame I bought at a yard sale. The woman that sold it to me must have had 20 things for sale with the sun, moon, stars theme. For some reason, it reminds me of the trinity. My brother-in-law used to call the trinity "Big Daddy, Little Brother, and the Spook." Nowadays, I try not to leave the feminine side out, since I was created in God's image, too. Hence, the moon's a woman.

Name Plaques
7.5 x 14.5 inches
acrylic on wood
safety coated to add gloss and prevent scratches
edges painted, no need for a frame

A while back, I got asked to put a little girls name on a rocking chair. I had so much fun personalizing it for her, I got the idea to do custom name plaques. I have my name in wood, and I've had it since I was 10 years old, and it is something I treasure. These can be ordered in any color combination, size, and font.

Reaching
18 x 24 inches
acrylic on canvas
SOLD

Have you ever stood outside, still as can be, in the wind? The feel of it on your skin is rejuvinating, isn't it? I've always thought that wind was the breath of God, wrapping you in a shimmering embrace, whispering, "you are loved." You cannot see the wind, but you can feel its effects. Jesus said, "The wind blows wherever it will." (John 3:8) This painting is hanging at Pop's Glass in Conway.

True Colors Series - Danielle Delight
approx 20 x 26 inches
acrylic on wood
SOLD
I've always loved that song:

I see your true colors shining through,
I see your true colors, and that's why I love you;
So don't be afraid to let them show
They're beautiful, like a rainbow.

Eva Cassidy does a wonderful version of that song, by the way. We often have to look beyond what we see to understand someone's true beauty. So I've done several pieces of people done in unusual colors. I tend to give everything I paint a name, and this one is named Danielle, after my dad (Daniel). She is done with metallic paints, which don't photograph as beautifully as they appear in real life.

Have you noticed that I tend to paint a lot of women? One of the reasons for this is that I believe women are the most underutilized resource in the world. So, I'm doing my part to bring the feminine principle forward by painting women that are not only beautiful, but strong.

Red Hat Is An Attitude
approx 11 x 13 inches
acrylic on wood
SOLD

I love to see the Red Hat ladies out to lunch or otherwise doing their thing. This one has a touch of that nostalgia for the glamour girls of yesteryear.
World On A String
16 x 20 inches
acrylic on canvas
SOLD
This was inspired by that old song:
"Ive got the world on a string
Im sitting on a rainbow
Got the string around my finger
What a world, what a life - Im in love"
