Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing. ~Theodore Roosevelt

I really do love Coca Cola, though I don't drink it that often. My daughter, Dixie, surprised me yesterday by telling me that she was giving up soda for Lent. She's an interesting 16 year old.... :)
If a person has enough push, he or she will manage to pull through.

This one was fun to paint - lots of colors.
I'm simultaneously at work on my children's book. It is coming along nicely.

I had so much fun painting this piece. I sometimes dream that I'm flying, so I thought I would do an homage to Chagall. I've always loved his work. He was a folk artist before they called it folk art!
As I grow to understand life less and less,I learn to love it more and more.

How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these. ~George Washington Carver

If you like this window, go see Maureen at Dogwood Hill Flower Farm. They have wonderful plants and flowers.
Yesterday, hubby and I were talking about the joy of knowing Christ. Love does indeed bring joy. It is said well here by Jesus:
"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete."

When I was a kid, I had a rainbow painted on my bedroom wall. Perhaps for that reason, I feel such a connection to this painting, and will be exploring this theme more in my work.
I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.

Artwalk was fun yesterday. I talked to lots of folks as I was painting, and got lots of good feedback on my art. Ed and Barb Streeter are the best! What a pleasure and a privlege to be represented by their gallery. They make glass blowing look easy. Stop by on any Saturday to watch them at work.

I've always admired that Robert Frost poem, so I slightly paraphased it for use on this piece. I got a lovely compliment on my art yesterday - that's always nice!
Everybody likes a compliment.
