Painting on wood has its challenges and its joys. The challenge is controlling where the paint goes, and filling all the cracks. The joy is using the natural surface of the wood to get texture into the painting. When this happens, and it works out right, there is nothing more scrumptuous!! It may be hard to see in the photo, but that happened in spades in this piece.

A while back, somewhere in my travels, I read that the purest form of dance/worship is twirling. It exists in virtually every culture. That idea really stuck with me and eventually became this piece of art. I am captivated by what is called the "Golden Light" at dawn and twilight, when the sun is low in the sky. It is even more exaggerated at the beach, isn't it?

The beach does, indeed, change everything.
