Here's a little something I painted with just dioxazine purple and white. I like challenging myself that way sometimes.
Valentine's Day is coming, so I've been exploring themes of togetherness a bit. My husband wanted to know which tree was the guy and which was the girl. Interesting question, huh?
I'm itching to get back "out there" doing live painting with people. Hope the warm weather comes early this year.
These schools of fish just seem to multiply and swim home with people! I call them reggae fish because the tropical colors and vibrancy remind me of the islands. Life is colorful here at the beach, too.
My friend Kate's husband, Mike, is in construction, and saves wood for me. This piece had an interesting hint of blue to it, and was uneven on the end, so I used those things to my advantage. Thanks, Kate and Mike!
Sold this to a fascinating couple from Maryland. Their bathroom will now be redecorated in greens and yellows with plenty of frogs. How fun!
This little creature is certain to give more smiles than crankiness! Once, at a show, a woman said to me as she was buying one of my happy crabs, "I looked all around at the other tents, but this crab kept calling me because I felt such joy! I'm surprised because I've never bought anything like this before!" Joy is indeed one of my missions.

If a miracle happens, don't take it for granted, or pass it off as chance. There are no co-incidences, only God-incidences!
This piece is done with actual red ruby slippers. The center of the poppies are embellished with beads. Pieces that have red ruby slippers usually prove popular at shows. The appeal of The Wizard of Oz is timeless, apparently. Although they are several days in the making, I do enjoy creating them. I hope you'll enjoy what you're doing today, too.
My husband has told me about the woman who cared for him as a child growing up in Myrtle Beach. Her name was Armatha. He says she was chubby and fun, and wore a red bandana. He says her lap was endless. This reminds me of God. We are never too old to climb into God's lap.

Here's a whimsical little cottage. My friend Linda and her husband used to have a magnet hanging on their fridge that said, "This house is filled with love." It's funny the little things you remember, isn't it? I'm gearing up for Art in the Park, Chapin Park, Myrtle Beach this Saturday and Sunday from 10 am - 4 pm. Come see me if you like.
Occasionally, I find bits of blue egg shell in our yard. It always fills my heart with hope and appreciation for the miracle of life. Appreciate someone today.
