Wise Woman
mixed media on wood
5 x 15 inches

Sometimes it is good to be reminded of all the things we strive for in life. None of them would be possible without grace.

"And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace."
~Romans 11:6

From The Heart
mixed media on wood
10 x 12 inches
SOLD, but available as an 11 x 14 print
This was the first piece of art I made in the new year. It takes me awhile to get pictures taken. I've been playing with collage techniques and having fun with it. I heard this quote when I was watching the Kennedy Center honors last year. Barbra Streisand was being honored and they attributed this quote to her. But after looking it up on Goggle (what did we do before Google?), I found that the quote is actually from Samuel Taylor Coleridge, one of the romantic poets from the Lake district of England, and writer of Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Kubla Kahn. This is an example of how things sometimes get twisted in Hollywood.

Their music still sounds good to me. Why is it that some music is timeless, and some is only for the time? I have to admit, Paul has always been my favorite.

The possible's slow fuse is lit, by the Imagination.

Red Ruby Slippers
approx 10 x 15 inches
acrylic and mixed media on wood
SOLD
This piece is done with actual red ruby slippers. The center of the poppies are embellished with beads. Pieces that have red ruby slippers usually prove popular at shows. The appeal of The Wizard of Oz is timeless, apparently. Although they are several days in the making, I do enjoy creating them. I hope you'll enjoy what you're doing today, too.
