Psychedelic Butterfly in Orange
16 x 11 inches
acrylic on wood
sealed and ready to hang

I love painting butterflies. They are such a wonderful metaphor for change. We all need change in order to grow. I must confess, my first instinct when faced with change is to dig in my heels and refuse. But once I surrender to it, I'm always glad I did.

Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine.

Monarch Window
29 x 27.5 inches
acrylic on old window
embellished with a touch of glitter and glass pebbles
sealed and ready to hang
SOLD

I always enjoy painting on windows. The natural frame makes for an awesome finished product. Years ago, I became enarmored of a a song called "The Caterpillar's Song" by the Mississippi Children's Choir. Some of the lyrics are "Once I was a caterpillar - now I'm a butterfly. I've been transformed, been reborn, and Jesus is the reason why." I've always cherished children's choirs. Have a great day, friends.

Touched By Grace
approx 9 x 12 inches
acrylic on wood
SOLD Last summer, my family took a mini-vacation to Savannah, Georgia. One of the highlights of the trip was Bonaventure Cemetery, because of the beautiful old trees and statues. I've often thought about what it would be like if one of the statues was touched by God and came to life. That's the inspiration behind this piece. It makes me think, "what part of my life needs to be touched by God's grace and come back to life?"

Thought for the day:
Just like the butterfly, I too will awaken in my own time.
