Joy Dragonfly
8 x 5
acrylic on wood
sealed and ready to hang
SOLD

This is an idea I got from the writer Julia Cameron, but I phrased it in my own way. My daughter's digital arts teacher has taught her to pay attention. God Bless that woman! I remember when I was about 12 years old, and my dad and I were getting in the car together. As we were driving out the driveway, my dad asked me if I noticed anything different. I looked and looked, but noticed nothing. He finally said, "The daffodils are just beginning to sprout." I was amazed that he had noticed. I've been paying better attention ever since.

Back To The Garden
approx 12 x 18 inches
acrylic on wood
sealed and ready to hang
SOLD

This piece was inspired by a song by Joni Mitchell called "Woodstock." Crosby, Stills and Nash did the version with which I'm more familiar. There is a lyric that says, "We are stardust, we are golden. And we've got to get ourselves back to the garden."

“We come spinning out of nothingness, scattering stars like dust.”

Dragonfly Duo
28 x 14 inches
acrylic on recycled cabinet door
sealed and ready to hang
SOLD

I'm fascinated by flight. I can totally understand why DaVinci spent so much energy on his flying machines. The closest I'll ever come (before heaven, of course) is parasailing. What a blast! And it's not scary at all - just quiet and very peaceful.

For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return.

My shows went well last weekend, and I'm looking forward to this weekend. The beautiful weather is inspiring me to paint a few landscapes. We'll see what happens in the next few days.

Gratitude Dragonfly

I am truly grateful for my wonderful life. I'm also grateful to live in America, where I'm free, and where women can get educated. Life is good!

Blue Damsel
5 x 5 inches
acrylic on wood
safety coated with a clear gloss for waterproofing
sides painted, no need for a frame
SOLD

I've been seeing so many dragonflies lately. They are little miracles to me. One came and hovered in front of my windshield as I was waiting in line for gasoline the other day. Then it danced around everyone else's vehicle, too. I looked around, and no one else saw it ~ they were all on their cell phones. I hope I never miss the gifts God gives because I'm buried in technology or busyness.
